Mike McDougall for El Cerrito City Council

Sound finances.
Clear decisions.
Reliable services.

I’m Mike McDougall, running for El Cerrito City Council to help build a financially strong, well-run city. As Financial Advisory Board vice chair, I work with public budgets, forecasts, and financial policies.

How Mike will work

Care for what works. Improve what doesn’t.

Follow the facts

Start with the budget, the forecast, the staff report, and the experience of the people closest to the work.

Explain the tradeoffs

Make public choices understandable in plain language—and make the sources behind each position easy to find.

Plan for the long term

Protect the services residents rely on today while preparing the City for the costs and opportunities ahead.

Experience for the work

Vice chairFinancial Advisory Board

On El Cerrito’s Financial Advisory Board, Mike helps review the City’s budget, long-term financial plan, reserves, audits, debt, and financial policies.

He builds software, previously managed an Apple engineering team, and serves as treasurer of a dance nonprofit. That work is practical experience in listening, solving problems, and fixing them in a way that stays fixed for the long run.
